"Learn While You Earn" is the apprenticeship tagline. 

Trades are earning excellent wages and are in high demand now and into the foreseeable future.  Many apprenticeships are in the construction trades but can be found in other areas too such as dog grooming and truck driving.

Employers who have apprenticeship programs have a formal educational plan in place to ensure you learn the skills necessary to succeed in their trade area.  A business's goal with apprenticeships is to train and retain its own employees.   

Employees start as paid apprentices and through work-based learning become a journeyman once the hours and educational requirements are met. The duration of an apprenticeship depends on the trade; it can be one to four years.
